We started Waypoint because we believed Eastern NC deserved better — more reliable, more compassionate medical transportation.
Waypoint Medical Transport was founded by Keval Shah, who grew up deeply connected to Eastern North Carolina's healthcare landscape. Having seen firsthand how transportation barriers prevented patients — elderly neighbors, dialysis patients, people without family nearby — from accessing the care they desperately needed, Keval knew something had to change.
Too many patients in this region were missing critical appointments not because they didn't want to go, but because there was simply no reliable way to get there. Rural counties with limited transit options. Families stretched thin. Patients choosing between skipping treatment and burdening loved ones.
Waypoint was built to close that gap. With a fleet of accessible, modern vehicles and a team of certified, compassionate drivers, we're committed to making sure that in Eastern North Carolina, transportation is never the reason someone misses their care.
"Every ride we complete is a health outcome protected. That's why we do this." — Keval Shah, Founder
We treat every patient the way we'd want our own family member treated — with kindness, patience, and genuine care for their dignity and comfort.
If we say we'll be there at 9:00, we'll be there at 8:55. Medical appointments are time-sensitive and our commitment to punctuality reflects that.
Our safety standards are non-negotiable. Certified drivers, inspected vehicles, proper equipment — because every person in our vehicle has people who love them.
We're not a national company parachuted in. We're Eastern NC. We live here, raise families here, and invest in the health of this region.
No surprise fees, no hidden costs. We're upfront about pricing, scheduling, and what to expect — because trust is earned through honesty.
Every patient deserves to be treated with respect regardless of their condition or circumstance. Dignity is not optional — it's our baseline.
Our team is made up of certified professionals who chose this work because they care about the people they serve.

We're not just a business operating in this region — we're a part of this community. We participate in local health fairs, work with community health organizations, and actively look for ways to reduce healthcare disparities in Eastern NC.
Every county we serve has unique needs and challenges. We take time to understand those communities — the roads, the facilities, the patients — so we can serve them better.
We understand that comfort and dignity matter. Female patients and elderly women who prefer a woman driver can request one at the time of booking. We are proud to employ women drivers and actively encourage more to apply.
